Honoring Prince

The work Prince left behind, and the good deeds that he did for others, will long live in the hearts of those who loved him. His great contributions as an artist in the Music Industry will never be forgotten.

As an artist, I am appreciative of the contributions each artist makes to the world. I have watched Prince as an entertainer over the years and observed his artistic skills. His voice and ability to use his vocals is amazing. I am a fan of the guitar. His guitar skills were magnificent! I enjoyed his performances. His vocals were God-given and he used them to help others. His skills were achieved through his hard work and developed with his ability to use his wisdom to place them in his music, and performances that allowed him to be a great artist, who loved the work he did.

During an interview he did with a talk-show host, I observed how he answered the questions asked to him, and found him to be highly intelligent. He was a spiritual person, who was also, inspirational.

When I heard the news of Prince untimely death, it was shocking. I feel this is my tribute to a great artist. I pray God will give his family and fans strength to release him in His hands, and thank God for the great things he allowed Prince to accomplish, and to bless others through his talent.

Hope is My Friend

Hope is a friend, who never fails me. When I am in need, it allows me to know I can succeed.

When the way ahead of me, is obscured with clouds of disappointments Hope goes before me, and shines the light to see my way clear.

When I need courage, hope pushes me ahead with the strength I need to persevere, and let me know, there is no need to fear. In times of doubt, hope tells me I can, because it is here.

Hope gives me determination, and strength to believe in myself that I can do whatever I desire. I am inspired to know, that regardless of the situation

and wherever the location, or destination, I have hope.

Hope is my friend, who will always be with me, to the end.

Her performing arts career dates back to her early childhood years, where she performed in churches and in school; participating in singing and plays. Ellen is an author, singer, and songwriter. She is the author of the novel for the movie, The Price We Must Pay For Our Father's Sins. Her novel was selected for best screenplay at the Beverly Hills Film Festival 2013. Ellen is currently working on her fourth album.

Each morning when I awaken, God has given me another chance to correct my errors. His grace and Love have sustained me, and his mercy has blessed me. There is a game in life, called “Down.” If you play it, you will lose.

I don’t play the “Down” game.

When I am told, I will lose, I say, I will win!

When I am told I can’t succeed, I say, I will.

If I am told to stop! I proceed, I persevere!

When I am confronted with difficulties, I endure.

I won’t play this game of control!

I don't back down, and I don't stand down.

I won’t bow down, for anyone.

I won’t play the “Down” game!

I am prepared to win, and not for shame.

*The way out of any bad situation is to never give up.

"I Want to Feel Your Power Today" is a cry to God, when one is in desperate need to hear from him. I have been in desperate need to hear from God, many times. I was sitting at my keyboard, one day, and needing very much to hear from him. At the time I was singing this song, I was expressing my emotions to God. I had no words written. I wrote the words after recording the song, when I decided to share it public. Those who have heard this song, testifies that it "Relaxed and calmed" them. My call to God was heard. He is a great and awesome God!
