The Mirror of My Soul

From within the mirror of my soul, God sees my complete makeup of who I am.
He hears my unspoken words, because he reads my thoughts.  Man judge me by my outer appearance, because he can not know me as God, know me. Man condemn me, for the things that God find to be justified of me. Man hates me, for the things God Love about me.

There is no secret or thought, I can keep from him. And there is no secret place I can dwell in to hide from him. Wherever I go, he is there. Therefore, he is forever present with me.

Father in heaven,
When I fall on my knees before you, please show me your grace and mercy. I need to know that sin, will not cause you to withhold the answer to my desires and needs that I request from you.   In my life, where I am weak, strengthen me, lead me in the way of righteousness, and guide my path with your wisdom. God help me to do the things that pleases you. Help me to feel compassion, empathy, and sympathy for others.   Amen

Two Hearts That Beat as One

Sharing the same passionate love with another person, gives a feeling of being alive! The experience of something real, is unforgettable.

Love looks beyond what the human eyes see, far into the souls of two people; where it find comfort, joy, happiness and peace, that words cannot explain, and neither can the minds of others comprehend; that exist in a couple. There is nothing that can break the bond between the two people. It is the Power of love.

The words of King Solomon captures the feeling of the power of love.
“Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it.” King Solomon

The power of love is an amazing force that binds the hearts and souls of two people together, connected on a spiritual level as one soul.

The "Down" Game

Ellen J. Barrier

There is a game in life, called “Down.”  If you play it, you will lose.
I don’t play the “Down” game.
When I am told, I will lose, I say, I will win!
When I am told I can’t succeed, I say, I will.
If I am told to stop! I proceed, I persevere!
When I am confronted with difficulties, I endure.
I won’t play this game of control!
I don't back down, and I don't stand down.
I won’t bow down, for anyone.
I won’t play the “Down” game!
I am prepared to win, and not for shame.

*The way out of any bad situation is to never give up.

"The Down Game"
Written by Ellen J. Barrier
Author/Musician/Song Writer/Creative Writing and Poetry

These are the Moments in Everyone's Life

ISBN: 978-0-9794043-2-0

There comes a  moment in time in the life of everyone, that something will occur that is too much of a burden to carry. These are the moments when we seek a power that is beyond what any human can provide. Regardless of who we are, or what status we hold, no one is exempt.

In times of a serious sickness, tragedy or loss, we each has a desire and need to be comforted in our whole being, in a way which medicine cannot accomplish. And neither can it be provided by any physical means.

The spiritual being, understands that it has a creator. Therefore, in times of distress, it automatic seeks the comfort of its creator. In the book of Job, it is stated by the writer himself, who was terminally ill, "The spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life." In his moment of desperation, his deepest desire was to hear from God. And he sought him for comfort.

The Words of Job:
Even today is my complaint bitter, my stroke is heavier than my groaning.
Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat!
I would order my cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments.
I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would say to me.

Will he plead against me with his great Power?
No, but he would put strength in me.

Song: I Want to Feel Your Power Today
Description
I Want to Feel Your Power Today is a cry to God, when one is in desperate need to hear from him. I have been in desperate need to hear from God, many times. I was sitting at my keyboard, one day, and needing very much to hear from him. What you hear, is unedited.

God's Sacrificial Offering to The World

In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion. Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me.  Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress.
 Psalm 71: 1-3

Why Did God Choose Jesus for His Sacrificial Offering?

And   I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it; But I found none."
Ezekiel  22:29, 30

Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.
Then said I, Lo, I come in (the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
Hebrews 10:5,6,7

Your Chosen Place, Rest or No Rest

A mysterious awareness is blowing in the wind,
It's exceedingly closer now than it's ever been,
Nature seems to comprehend the interpretation there within,
Something exciting and wonderful is just around the bin,
God's words of wisdom being proclaimed throughout the land,
Will the world stop and listen to God's truth being told to man,
From the beginning unto the end unfolding His amazing plan,
Genuine salvation, without measure He showed His love toward men,
We've allowed ourselves to think we don't need the Lord until when,
Ignoring the truth we settle for myths saying God doesn't exist,
This doesn't change the facts from the beginning God isn't amiss,
We've made ourselves become gods, we don't need him anymore,
What excused will the world give while kneeling before The Lord,
The Lamb's Book of Life then will be opened all names written therein,
Judgement to all great and small will your name be found there?
depends,

Your very words will condemn you, there's no turning back then,
What cries will be heard from men when being judged by Him,
It’s your choices were unwise without foresight to what was ahead,
Without sudden notice angels appear, swooping down with dread,
In the distance a new horizon something glowing in the dark,
The lake of fire indescribable awaits those who took the mark,
Kicking, screaming crying aloud facing unbelievable horrifying fear,

Anguish mourning's of people abandoned all hope who enter here,
You've determined your fate by decisions you made sometime ago,
Without hesitation the angels lets go dropping you in the fire below,
Eternal agony beyond comprehension forever without no ending,
The fearful, unbelieving, idolaters and all liars eternity descending,
The Righteous Judge's last invitation from the book of Revelation,
Spirit of bride say, Come, he that hears, Come, whosoever will come,
Your decision to make choose wisely before all happens above,
Unfortunately some will ignore God's warnings, woes, and his love,
Accountability we much face, consequences for consideration,
Tribulation, fire and brimstone, damnation your future accommodations,
You could have been forever blessed but you've chose this place of no rest,

Religious Bullying

Ellen J. Barrier

Religious Bullying
The religious bully is one who is self-righteous. He or she feels morally superior above others. This is an individual who doesn’t feel guilt when having committed a sinful act. They sit in the seat of judgment against others according to their religious beliefs. They use certain biblical words to defend their position based on the way they believe things should be, that are contrary to common sense.
The religious bully is a danger to him or her own selves, and to others, because they place themselves in a position that they feel is godlike, and therefore, they are disconnected to God.
When the religious bullies start toting bibles and placing themselves in leadership positions, they become a powerful and evil force against society that is very dangerous, because out of their organizations hatemongers are reproduced. They don’t like anyone who disagrees with their philosophy.
The hatemongers desire is to destroy, and to harm those who they feel is unclean, or unworthy to exist.
The danger to these particular individuals and to others; they’re tuned in to a spirit that they believe is God, who is speaking to them and telling them the right things to do. Whatever they hear, they believe and there is no one who can convince their leader nor their followers that they are wrong..
What the Bible Says:
For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believeth.
Romans 10:2-4
Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works?  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Matthew 7:21-23
But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment:  Matthew 5:22

Character Assassination

Ellen J. Barrier

There are those who are out to get you, one way or the other with their hate.  They will assassinate your character and think nothing of it, while smiling in your face and pretending to be your friend.

When you hear some bad things that have been published about  you, it's someone who you know. Why do they do it? Jealousy, is a close relative to hate, that can never be disconnected.  Many people will not only assassinate an individual's character, they will assassinate that individual due to hate.

When I read, "Still I Rise"  written by Maya Angelou, the words of King Solomon, came to thought. "Jealousy is the rage of a man" noted, King Solomon (Proverbs 6:34).

There are those who are jealous of something someone else has that they want, or another individual's success.  Some people are jealous of other people' looks.
There are a whole host of things people are jealous of that inspire them to hate.
Jealousy and hate are spiritual diseases that destroys the human's whole being. They are capable of destroying innocent people in large numbers just as deadly germs are. Such people who are possessed with jealousy and hate are deeply stressful, and that stress wears and tear down the body's immune defenses and eventually destroys the mind and the health.

Regardless, what others may say about you, because of jealousy and hate, or what ever, "Still I Rise" are very powerful and encouraging, to continue to reach for greatness and excellence, for higher heights, because you have worked too hard and made too many sacrifices, as well as your parents and those who have had positive influences in your life to give up. You too must keep rising.

Still I Rise
   by Maya Angelou

You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I'll rise.
Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
'Cause I walk like I've got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.
Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I'll rise.
Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops,
Weakened by my soulful cries?
Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don't you take it awful hard
'Cause I laugh like I've got gold mines
Diggin' in my own backyard.
You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I'll rise.
Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I've got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?
Out of the huts of history's shame
I rise
Up from a past that's rooted in pain
I rise
I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that's wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise
I rise.

Are you worshipping your Faith? Or Are You Worshipping God?

Ellen J. Barrier
Everyone who takes the position of a Spiritual Leader has a responsibility that is a high calling above all professions, because their obligation is to serve all people regardless of their faith, or gender. He or she isn’t in the position to render judgment or punishment, based on religious beliefs, but to serve the people in the manner of the things that every human being is required to have - based upon their birth given rights by the creator of all things.

God is not bias and neither is he racist. Those who practice such behavior are condemned by him.

The Responsibility for all Spiritual Leaders:
“THEREFORE seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; but have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the Word of God, deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s (person’s) conscience in the sight of God.”
11 Corinthians 4:1, 2 (K.J.V)

When  Spiritual Leaders hear those who they know using the Word of God or Faith in a crafty or deceitful fashion, they should condemn this kind of behavior. Such behavior is condemned by God. Therefore, it should be condemned by his Spiritual Leaders, because he will turn his wrath upon the person who practices this behavior.

The Words of God are to be used for the purpose of good, and not for evil. His Words are holy. God is a Spirit. His Words are spiritual. We worship him from within our spiritual being. We should use his words to give comfort, healing, hope, and peace in times of need.  Some people say they are worshipping God, but we discover they are worshipping their religion instead.

My son, Keith, gave me a beautiful box, with this inspirational writing on the top. It is very special to me. I have had it, for several years. I would like to share it, with you. There are times in our lives, when it seems that our burdens are too heavy to carry. And that we are alone, and no one cares.

My hopes are that, this inspirational writing will uplift, and give hope, to those who are feeling alone, and that no one cares about them. Below, is a scripture to help add some sunshine in your day. May God bless you much!

Footprints

On night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonged to him, and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it: “Lord you said that once I decided to follow you, you’d walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints.  I don’t understand why when I needed you most you would leave me.”
The Lord replied, “My precious, precious child. I love you and would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.”

I will lift up mine eyes  unto the hills, from whence cometh  my help.
My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will

Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

I am so impressed with the wisdom behind these writings, shared by Tee Turner. I want to give many others the opportunity to view them. Also, this young man is very talented in writing. I hope you will enjoy these writings as much as I have.

Tee Turner

I'm at a very pivotal point in my life where I'm starting to be ok with some people not being in it or so important to me as they used to be. I believe when you start to mature and grow to a higher place in God some people aren't meant to go to the next level with you. Maybe its cause they are hanging on trying to help me fall or speculating when am I going to fall lol. See at every new level there is a new devil with new tactics and new tricks. And I don't need any distractions. So I'm sorry to inform you but "News Flash" my steps are ordered and I'm taking each step carefully. So if it seems as if I have began to distance myself from you, believe its not you (well maybe it is); but really I'm just going down my to do list....

When you begin to say that your situation is hopeless, you are slamming the door of opportunity in the face of God. When you begin to give up on yourself you begin to give life to your problem. At this moment your situation has become victorious over you. Don't let your situation overtake you this is not the purpose of your problem. The purpose of your problem is to build your spiritual character. So understand God is doing more for you than that problem can do to you......
.# YourGreaterThanYourIssues

Never allow someone to become your Priority when to them your only an Option! This to me is a form of Manipulation. If someone Truly Loves you the option to manipulate you doesn't even exist in their heart. See True Love shows itself when Manipulation leaves the room. So instead of making them your Priority you have the Option to Prioritize your own Destiny. Just a little background scripture for The Bible readers Matthew 6:33....

The picture below was taken by my daughter Miranda, at the Horseshoe Lake in Wichita, Kansas. The signs of Spring is here; Temperature is very warm, and lots of visitors are at the lake in the early evening.
It is a beautiful sunny day. I decided this picture would work well for this poem.

The Late Singer

Here it is spring again
and I still a young man!
I am late at my singing.
The sparrow with the black rain on his breast
has been at his cadenzas for two weeks past:
What is it that is dragging at my heart?
The grass by the back door
is stiff with sap.
The old maples are opening
their branches of brown and yellow moth-flowers.
A moon hangs in the blue
in the early afternoons over the marshes
I am late at my singing.

Send Me an Angel

Ellen J. Barrier

Send Me An Angel
by L. Dianne Malone

Merciful Father, hear my plea
Send an Angel here for me
One to take charge everyday
to guide me as I walk your way

Send me an Angel from on high
from far beyond the clear blue sky
For sometimes Father - you know the day
The color changes; sometimes its gray

In his hands he'll bear me up
while I drink from your cup
If my foot dashes against stone
He'll remind me I'm your own

My Angel's truth will be my shield
as he leads me to waters still
When I seek a hiding place
He'll spread his wings - my fortress is made

Musical Instruments & Technology

Ellen J. Barrier

Music Store

I enjoy listening to the sounds of many different musical instruments. I am a big fan of Jazz music. My family and I enjoy going to concerts. Many of my family members as well as myself, are into music. We play a variety of musical instruments. I'm going to talk about the instrument I play:

I play the keyboard.  It is a Yamaha Porta Tone. The things I appreciate about the keyboard is that - it allows the musician to play a variety of instruments: Piano, organ, drums, guitar and horns - along with a variety of sound effects. I could go on. But, I'll talk about my keyboard. If you play a musical instrument of any kind, I'm sure you deeply appreciate it. And the time you spend alone with your instrument. The musicians and their instruments become one.

Performance Assistance Technology

This feature is a easy way  to play piano and organ, on your keyboard. It is especially good for new players. It allows the student to play along with songs. The technology reads the chord data from the song, and assigns the appropriate notes to the keyboard, for the chords of the song that's being played. Different notes and chords are produced, even if the student plays the same note repeatedly. This is because, the chords of a song, changes constantly.

Performance assistance technology, can only be used with songs, that include chord data. The student can download songs from the Internet, if they are available - and use them with this technology, only if the required chord data is included. The student can also, change the song tempo. If the tempo of a song is too fast or too slow, set the tempo by touching the TEMPO/TAP button.

The Power of Love
Set me as a seal upon thine heart
As a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death;
Jealousy is cruel as the grave; the coals thereof are coals of fire
which hath a most vehement flame.
Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it:
If a man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would
utterly be condemned.
__King Solomon

I Need Time
Not now, not now,  not now, I say.
I’ll serve you Lord, just not today.
You see, I do not need you now. My life’s complete.
So tell me how, I’m to serve you and still have time to hang loose
with these dawgs of mine?
But in a little while I’ll come. Just not now, Lord.
I’m with my chums. See they don’t know a thing about you.
So give me time - just one more day.  And  I’ll  try to come your way.
But understand, I may change my mind.
Cuz these friends of mine, are trying to find a way to make their lives right.
And I, Well I just can’t talk about the light.
They’ll think I’m weird. They will think I’m strange, if I tell them about
your name. They’ll laff at me. I’ll be a joke, if I tell them about the yoke
that you bore just for me. I can’t yet Lord. I need to be free. I’ll fit my
future in your plan. Just wait for me Lord - you understand.

Alone
From childhood's hour I have not been
As others were; I have not seen
As others saw; I could not bring
My passions from a common spring.
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow; I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone;
And all I loved, I loved alone.
Then- in my childhood, in the dawn
Of a most stormy life- was drawn
From every depth of good and ill
The mystery which binds me still:
From the torrent, or the fountain,
From the red cliff of the mountain,
From the sun that round me rolled
In its autumn tint of gold,
From the lightning in the sky
As it passed me flying by,
From the thunder and the storm,
And the cloud that took the form
(When the rest of Heaven was blue)
Of a demon in my view.
